Chapter: 1276
Roger liked Rachel and had been pursuing her for a long time. This had been well known to all since four years ago, before Rachel pretended to be dead.
Four years later, Rachel came back to life. Naturally, Roger would pursue her more fiercely than he had before.
“Did Rachel tell you that she is going to be with Roger?" Carson asked, genuinely curious.
To be honest, if Rachel made such a decision, Carson wouldn't have blamed her. If he had been in her shoes, he would have chosen Roger, no questions asked.
Roger was a gentle, tender and amiable man. He was the typical sweet man in the eyes of the public and to top it all off, he had a promising career.
With Rachel and Victor, there was a life-long grudge, and memories of unbearable torture and pain from four years ago.
Late love means nothing. Rachel had once told him that. It was harsh, but he had to admit that from her perspective, it was reasonable.
"No," Victor said in a cold tone.
"If she ever said so, your next target would be the Jimenez Group."
Carson put his hands on his chest and sighed.
“But even if she didn't say it, it's quite possible, right?"
She didn't need to say it. They could already tell from her behavior.
"I won't give him the chance, Victor said in a deep voice.
"They won't ever be together."
"What if Rachel does fall in love with Roger? What will you do?"
Carson asked.
After a long moment of silence, Victor did not bother to answer
Carson's hypothetical question.
Carson cocked his eyebrow. Sensing that Victor wasn't about to say anything, he thought his good friend, Victor, was so self-assured that he hadn't thought about this at all, which was why Victor couldn't come up with an answer at that moment.
In fact, that was not the case at all.
The night before, Victor had thought about this question for the entire night, but even though he had gone over it a hundred times in his mind, he still couldn't find an answer.
If this was in the past, he might force Rachel to be with him by doing everything possible to keep her by his side. Even if she thought he was mean and disgusting, he would not hesitate to do that at all.
But now he was not so sure about any of that.
He didn't want to let Rachel go and he knew he couldn't do that. But if Rachel really was in love with Roger, would he really be willing to force her to stay with him and watch her suffer a lifetime with someone she didn't love?
He couldn't bear to see Rachel in pain.
