Chapter: 1434
The staff was stunned by the boy's big eyes. He then smiled at the boy and explained patiently, "This place isn't for kids. Besides, it's dangerous here. Are you lost? Where are your parents?"

"I came here alone," Joey answered.

"You did?"

Joey nodded and continued to walk inside.

The staff halted him again.

"Listen, kid, don't lie to me. How did you even get here by yourself? Okay, here's a suggestion: I'll take you to the security office, and then you can wait for your parents there, okay?"

Joey put on a straight face. He looked quite stoic.

Whenever Joey wasn't smiling, he looked a lot like his Victor, and it intimidated others.

Upon seeing the boy's reaction, the staff contemplated on how to persuade him to leave without making the boy cry. Only adults were allowed in this place, and it was a members-only club to boot. If the boy were to cry, it could annoy the members inside, resulting in his supervisor punishing him for it.

It took him so much effort to find a well-paid job like this one.

There was no way he'd lose it over a minor incident like this.

“Little boy, come to the security office with me. We have candy there!" the staff said in a soft voice.

Joey was starting to get annoyed by him.

“What's going on here?" The foreman came out and saw Joey and his staff talking.

The staff trembled, trying to hide Joey behind him. Before he could come up with an excuse, the foreman had already approached them and seen Joey.

Stumbling to explain, the staff stammered, "Sir, he's...um

"Is he your brother? Why did you bring your brother here?" The foreman stared at the staff's nervous face, immediately making a judgment.

“Didn't I tell you on your first day of work that children aren't allowed in here? You're bold for bringing your family in here!"

The staff shook his head, trying to deny the foreman's judgment.

"No, it's nothing like that, sir! He's not my brother."

The foreman glared at him, intending to scold him even harder. But before he could speak, Joey said, "Brother? This man is too ugly to be my brother."

The foreman and staff were rendered speechless.

Seemingly annoyed but trying to hide it, the staff said, "This child got lost, and I was about to escort him to the security office, sir."

The foreman rolled his eyes at him and replied, “Then why didn't you say that in the first place?"

Once more, the staff fell silent. He didn't have a chance to explain.
