Chapter: 1460
Hector cast a glance at Joey and Victor. A second later, he cleared his throat and broke the silence.

"I'll go upstairs and get coffee with my old colleagues. You two should also head out soon. This is not a nice place."

It was his way of getting the two of them alone so they could talk.

He then got up from his seat and walked out with his walking stick.

The light in the detention room suddenly dimmed when Hector closed the door behind him. It got dark enough that Joey struggled to see the expression on Victor's face.

"Uh... I'm sorry." His voice came out a little hoarse when Victor decided to break the silence between them.

It wasn't loud, but those three words cut the deafening silence in the room and reached Joey.

"Wait... You remember?" Joey could only look at Victor. He was stunned to hear what his father said.

However, Victor didn't say another word.

Joey looked at Victor and blinked his eyes.

"You-"

“It was my fault that I didn't recognize you back then." Victor spoke in a deep voice.

"I always feel sorry."

ALL of a sudden, Joey loosened his grip on the hem of his shirt.

He blinked his eyes twice and felt something about to fall from his eyes.

Victor apologized. Just now, he had uttered the very words that somehow released the bitterness and resentment Joey had been holding in his heart for so long.

Before he knew it, tears started streaming down his face.

“Do you still want me?" Joey's voice was shaking. At this point, he was unsure of what to feel.

"Yes." His response almost sounded hushed, but it was obvious that

Victor was trying to suppress his emotions. Even his fingers were slightly crooked from seeing the tears falling from Joey's eyes. It was as if something was stuck in his heart.

Of course, he wanted his son.

Victor had been longing for him for years. Now, he was right in front of him.

It felt quite surreal that he wanted to slap himself just to know he was awake.

He started looking back to the day he claimed he didn't recognize his own son. Indeed, it was cruel of him. He just wasn't certain why he did it.

Joey wiped his tears with the back of his hand.
