Chapter: 1661
But she was well aware now.
It was an opportunity to uncover Alberto's true face hidden behind the mask, and she didn't want to let it slip away.
“No medicine or phone number?" Rachel consciously ignored his request for her to leave.
"Neither of them."
Rachel couldn't help but question whether he was being honest, but without being able to discern his facial expressions, nor possessing any concrete evidence, she had no grounds to claim he was lying.
She retrieved her phone and launched the delivery app, asking, “Are there any medications you're allergic to? I can order some for you."
Despite her inquiry, Alberto remained silent.
Without waiting for his answer, Rachel ordered several common antipyretics and anti-cold drugs.
With the weather constantly fluctuating and the snowfall, the temperature had been dropping repeatedly. It was the peak of flu season, and many people had fallen ill with colds. Rachel suspected that Alberto had also caught a cold.
She placed the order.
Then Rachel pocketed her phone and proceeded upstairs to heat some water in the kitchen.
She didn't find a glass or a kettle in the large reception room on the first floor, so she had to go upstairs to pour water. When she returned, Alberto was nowhere to be found.
Rachel had an inkling of where Alberto might be and, driven by intuition, she proceeded towards the backyard.
Alberto hadn't gone too far. Rachel walked down the lengthy corridor and quickly caught up with him.
"Are you going back to side building?" she asked.
"Yes." For once, Alberto responded to her.
Rachel stopped him in his tracks, offering a glass of warm water and saying, "Here, the water is still warm. It's the perfect temperature to soothe your throat and warm you up."
Alberto's gaze shifted between her and the glass she was offering.
Just as Rachel was beginning to feel a strain in her wrist, he finally accepted the glass.
Rachel then positioned her hands on the handles of his wheelchair, informing him, “I'll take you back to your room. The medicine should arrive in about half an hour. Make sure to drink plenty of water.
The fever will subside soon."
She began to guide the wheelchair at a leisurely pace towards the side building.
ALL the while, Alberto held the glass of water, showing no signs of intending to drink it.
Gazing at his mask, Rachel's mind sparked an idea and she inquired, "Do you happen to have a disposable towel?"
