Chapter: 1688
Pressing her temples, Rachel climbed out of the bed and walked to the bathroom. Enduring her throbbing head, she washed her face before walking out of the room and heading downstairs.

She found Alberto in the living room, reading some document.

Hearing her come down, he looked up and closed the folder but said nothing.

Rachel couldn't help feeling under his gaze. Walking self-conscious up, she greeted to break the silence.

"Hi Alberto withdrew his gaze and opened the folder to continue reading.

Rachel shrugged off his reaction and looked around.

"Hasn't Dewey returned yet?"

"He had," Alberto said without looking at her.

"But he left after dropping the shopping bags here to deal with work.”

"Won't he stay here?" Rachel was somewhat surprised.

Unable to multitask, Alberto closed the folder and looked up at Rachel, dropping his work to focus on answering her queries instead.

“No, he won't."

“Okay.”

Rachel realized she would be alone with Alberto in the villa tonight, which felt a little awkward.

She initially thought Dewey would stay with them in the villa, so she didn't worry that much.

But now that she was here and the driver was gone, she was unable to leave this place.

Quietly accepting her fate, Rachel thought of things to do when she remembered about lunch.

“If Dewey left after dropping the bags...

Have you had lunch yet?"

Alberto raised an eyebrow.

“You were going to cook for me, weren't you?"

Rachel's eyes widened a fraction in surprise.

It was already past one in the afternoon. She thought he would have grabbed something for lunch. It turned out he was waiting for her to wake up and cook.

"Sorry, I overslept and totally forgot. I'll make Lunch now." Rachel felt somewhat embarrassed.
