Chapter: 1821
"No," Alberto replied. “It needs charging."

Even though he was wearing a mask, Rachel could sense a hint of embarrassment in his eyes. His attempts to explain in a chilly manner couldn't hide his awkwardness, and Rachel couldn't help smiling.

She stepped closer and asked, "Can I help you get to the dining room?"

"Thank you." Alberto's gratitude came across with a touch of formality.

"It's no big deal, Mr. Gibson," Rachel said playfully.

She then positioned herself behind the wheelchair, took hold of it, and began guiding Alberto towards the dining room.

The table was set for two. Rachel positioned the wheelchair comfortably and served him some soup before sitting down herself.

Noticing it might be difficult for him to reach for things, she moved her own tableware closer to sit beside him.

Alberto looked at her, a bit surprised.

Rachel kept her composure and said, "I promised Mason I'd look after you until he's back. If you need anything from the table, just let me know."

Alberto grabbed the spoon and dove right into the soup without saying anything.

Unseen by Rachel, a subtle smile played at the corners of his mouth beneath the mask, and his eyes sparkled with affection.

After he finished his soup, Rachel served him some rice.

“So, why did you come to see me today?" Alberto suddenly asked.

“Oh, that can wait until we're done eating, Rachel replied, pausing for a moment.

He looked at her for a moment, trying to figure out something from her expression. Rachel, however, was focused on her meal and didn't notice his stare at all.

After dinner, Rachel pushed Alberto back to the Living room.

“Now we can discuss your reason for visiting," Alberto prompted again.

Rachel checked her phone for the time and said, “There's no rush.

Let's relax a bit after eating."

Alberto couldn't figure out her intentions, and his eyes darkened a bit.

Rachel then walked towards the hallway and looked up at the night sky. The Gibson Mansion's distance from the city center meant minimal light pollution. As she looked up, a multitude of stars twinkled brilliantly in her view.

It was a rare sight, especially on such cold, rainy days.

Feeling uplifted by the view, she turned to Alberto and said, "Mr. Gibson, it's a perfect night for stargazing. Would you like to join me? I can help you to the yard."
