She looked down at her pajamas. Then she remembered that Alberto had arranged for Dewey to pick her up. But he hadn't mentioned coming along himself, especially this early.

Rushing to change, Rachel slipped into some casual clothes and went downstairs.

Alberto was already inside, comfortably seated in the spacious living room. Familiar with the house from previous visits, Dewey warmly greeted her as she entered. "Good morning, Miss Bennet."

Rachel barely had time to respond when she noticed Lila emerging from the dining room, loaded with bags.

"Lila, you're still here?" Rachel glanced at her phone. "Shouldn't you be catching the bus at eight o'clock?"
