Startled, Rachel responded, “Mr. Gibson, you shouldn't sneak up on me like that." She tapped her chest lightly, trying to calm her racing heart.

Alberto glanced at her, his voice soft. "Are you feeling better now?"

It was only upon his inquiry that she realized her energy had returned, and the dizziness had vanished. She nodded, offering a smile. "I never thought the medicine Dewey provided would work so well. I'm not feeling any discomfort now."

"The fireworks..." Rachel broached the subject of the fireworks.
