"Rosa..." Carson paused in his tracks upon seeing her tears.

With her eyes brimming and tears cascading down her cheeks, Rosa couldn't hold back. "Do you find joy in seeing me like this? Knowing that I still have feelings for you, that I care, does that make you proud? So, the woman who left you is finally getting her comeuppance, is that it?"

Carson's expression turned solemn. “Is that really what you think of me?"

Rosa shut her eyes, too weary to keep them open. "Does my opinion even matter?”

"I've never seen it like that," Carson countered. “Knowing you still hold me in your heart only brings me joy. It makes me happy to know you still love me."
