With darkness on its side, the wild boar could track her down with ease. It emitted a low growl and scraped its front hooves against the ground. Then, his body shook, and it shifted its tusks before charging towards Rachel.

Rachel froze in place.

Watching the wild boar draw nearer and nearer, she clutched her stick tightly and hoisted it high. As the boar leaped towards her, she struck it as hard as she could.

The boar cried out in agony and writhed on the ground.

Rachel took advantage of the moment and pressed herself against a tree trunk. Enduring the pain, she hastened forward, nearly breaking into a run.
