It was almost lunchtime. Everyone filed into the bus that would take them to the restaurant where the project center had arranged lunch for them.

This time, Alberto joined them for the ride.

After a brief restroom stop, Rachel came back to the bus, only to discover that the spot she sat in the morning had been taken.

The bus was full. Alberto was in the front row, but there was no one next to him. After a quick scan, Rachel realized that the only empty seat left on the bus was next to him.

The corner of her mouth twitched.
