"So, is it Dad then?" Kathryn concluded, suspecting her father, Wendell, might be involved. She stood up resolutely. "It must be Dad, right? I'm going to call him right now!"

"Kathryn!" Aimee quickly reached out to stop her daughter. “Your father is busy at work. Don't bother him."

This response only solidified Kathryn's suspicion that her mother was upset because of her father. “Mom, how can his work be more important than your feelings? How can Dad be so inconsiderate as to upset you?"
