People were starting to stare, so Averie sighed, took her roommate's wrist, packed up her things, and led her out of the library without saying another word.

As they stepped outside the library into the bright sunshine, Averie let go of her roommate's hand and headed towards the dorm.

She figured she wouldn't get much more studying done today.

Besides, it was getting close to lunch, and Averie was already planning to head back to her room to whip up some noodles.

She'd been cooking in the dorm to save money since freshman year. It was usually simple stuff-porridge with pickles, noodles with sauce nothing fancy, but it kept her going.
