Just as she stood, the dormitory room door burst open.

One of her roommates rushed in, beaming with excitement. She grabbed Averie's arm and blurted out, "Did you hand in the form?"

The grip was a bit too tight and Averie winced. She didn't know how to respond at first, seeing how hyped her roommate was. She just managed a half-smile, pried her arm free, and asked, “What form are you talking about?"

“The form for graduate program application!" her roommate exclaimed.

“Why didn't you tell me you handed in the form? I had to hear it from someone else! I've been telling you for ages to apply but you never listened! And now, out of nowhere, you did it!"
