"Alberto!" Allen grew uneasy. "I'm trying to look out for you! You two can't be together! She's going to destroy you!”

Overcome by desperation, he blurted it out.

Alberto's face tensed. After a brief silence, he asked, "What do you mean?"

Allen scratched his head, his frustration mounting. “It's clear that you and her won't work out. Alberto, you could marry anyone else, just not her. Do you even know who she is? She's been married before, and she has a child."

Allen didn't tell his brother that the child was actually his own, though.
