Puzzled, Rachel blinked. “What should I be asking?"

Right after she spoke, She recalled what Alberto had mentioned before leaving earlier. "Do you mean the important thing you said you'd tell me when you got back?"

Alberto peered into her eyes.

He had hoped she would ask without prompting. Silently, he wrapped his arms around her, resting his forehead against her shoulder. After a brief pause, he murmured, “Actually, I was just downstairs about half an hour ago."

Rachel hesitated, feeling his warm breath on her neck and shoulder, ticklish enough that she instinctively wanted to pull away. But Alberto's firm grip kept her in place, leaving no room for escape.
