Hearing Kathryn's voice, Aimee paused for a moment, then asked uncertainly, “Kathryn, is that you?"

"Mom, it's me." Kathryn glanced at Bart and apologized. “I'm sorry for causing you concern."

"Are you okay? Thank goodness!" Aimee's anxious heart finally calmed, but then she noticed it was Bart's phone. Her expression turned serious. “Kathryn, why are you with Bart?"

Kathryn looked at the scrape on her arm, considering it for a moment.
