Kathryn's eyes reddened further. She knew Rachel was trying to lighten the mood.

"Yes..." Kathryn began, but the words caught in her throat. She could only nod, her voice trembling.

“Alright then, I'll remember not to starve you next time," Rachel said, handing her two tissues. “But even if you're hungry, hang in there. The noodles need three more minutes."

Kathryn took the tissues, lowering her eyes as tears fell onto them, smudging them instantly. She couldn't hold it in anymore and burst into tears.

Rachel sat beside her and extended her arms. “How about crying for three minutes?"
