Rachel explained calmly, “I am not saying we have to keep it hush-hush. Don't get me wrong."

Alberto just stared at her, remaining silent.

"I just don't see it as a good call. Hear me out. I'm pitching in, not stirring the pot. But if folks catch me stepping out of your ride, they'll assume we're tight. Going public with us could mess with my new role in the investment department. They'd bend over backward to butter me up because of us. I'd hardly get any real work done. Isn't that the opposite of what I want?" Rachel asked.
