"Yes, it really is," Alberto replied seriously, catching the cute tone in her words. Even though he knew Rachel was just sharing her present thoughts, he still stopped and turned to face her.

Rachel was surprised that Alberto had stopped to respond to her casual remark. She looked up and saw the serious look on his face. The branches above them swayed gently in the breeze, casting flickering shadows on his shoulders.

Her heart missed a beat. She placed her other hand on Alberto's shoulder, stood on her toes, and kissed the corner of his lips.

Just as she was about to lower her hand from his shoulder, she felt a strong arm wrap around her waist and pull her close. She stumbled and found herself pressed against him.
