The next day, Rachel woke up to an empty bed. The bedroom's curtains, once closed, were now half-open, allowing sunlight to spill in and warm the room.

She sat up slowly, feeling the quilt slide off her shoulders. Her eyes wandered around the room and eventually landed on a water cup on the bedside table.

A sticky note was attached to the side of the cup.

Rachel reached out and carefully peeled the note away. She paused, reading the neat, strong handwriting.

"The medicine is in the drawer. Remember to take it."
