Her heart twisted at the sight.

Ainsley must have been in unbearable pain; the color drained from her face told its own story.

Ainsley mustered a faint smile. "Don't worry, Lottie, I'm fine. It was chaos at Matilda's fan event last night, and I just happened to get caught in the middle of it. Luckily, Moran showed up in the nick of time and pulled me out of the mess. Who knows what could've happened otherwise?"

Lottie's expression darkened, anger flashing in her eyes as she clenched her teeth. "I knew that vile woman had something to do with this."
