Ainsley stood frozen, mouth agape, her wide eyes fixed on him in disbelief. Each word felt like a blade, slicing through her defenses, cutting her deeper than she thought possible.

Disgusting. Filthy. Shameless. The words stabbed her with every breath. Her chest tightened as if an invisible hand was squeezing the life out of her. She couldn't move, couldn't speak, couldn't even defend herself. All she could do was stand there, shattered.

Ainsley found herself unable to utter a word. She felt as though something was lodged in her throat.

She just fixed a gaze on Farris in a daze. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes, but she held them back.

After some time, she managed to speak. Her lips felt parched, her eyes empty. “Mr. Warren, if your purpose for coming here was to degrade me, then you have accomplished that. You've belittled me completely with your harsh remarks. May I go now?"
