He grasped her shoulders firmly, forcing her to look into his eyes.
Ainsley was jolted by his sudden move, frozen in place as her thoughts spiraled in confusion.
"Do you really believe I would abandon you because of your past? That I would reject your history, your family, and everything that makes you who you are?" he thundered, a storm of conflicting emotions swirling in his eyes.
Ainsley's lips trembled slightly, her voice barely a whisper. “But it's so difficult for people to truly accept it. They might offer sympathy, but genuine acceptance... that's a whole different story."
