Ainsley watched as the car sped away, feeling as though her entire world was vanishing from view. Her vision swam, and before she realized it, her knees buckled, and she collapsed to the ground with a muted thud.

Ainsley spent several days in the hospital before she began to show some signs of getting better. Since she had collapsed at the press conference, she had seemed like just a shadow of who she used to be.

Each day, she lay there, quiet and unresponsive, staring blankly at the ceiling. It was a heartbreaking scene.

Farris could no longer bear to see her suffering. She reminded him of a once-vibrant painting that had lost its life and color overnight.
