Chapter: 654
Joey squatted down to pet the cat, and the cat rubbed its head against his palm like a child pleading for candies.

"Are you trying to be nice to me?" Amused, Joey held it in his arms.

"Meow!"

“My father is taking care of a cat now? That's new," he remarked.

Joey had always been fond of cats. Each time he saw one, he wouldn't be able to walk away from it, especially something as beautiful and adorable as this one. last year, during his birthday, Quintin remembered how much Joey loved cats, so he gave him a kitty as a gift.

But not long after, the cat got sick and had a series of complications. Rachel and Quintin tried everything to keep it alive, but in the end, the cat still died.

Joey cried his eyes out and got sick because of his beloved cat's death, which frightened everyone.

Ever since then, they had stopped talking about raising cats.

But even if that tragic accident happened, Joey didn't stop loving cats.

"Hi there, kitty. What's your name?" Joey lowered his head, letting the kitty nestle in his arms. The little angel showed him her belly.

And since the kitty was willing to let him touch her belly, it meant that it liked Joey.

Joey was pleasantly surprised to find out that the cat wasn't afraid of strangers.

"You're so cute!"

"Meow!"

“But your nose feels a little dry. Are you sick?" Joey asked, gently touching the kitty's nose with his fingertip.

The cut stuck out her tongue, licking his hand.

“Katie? Katie, where are you?" Suddenly, Joey heard a voice drawing closer towards them.

Alarmed, he held the kitty and hid behind a big tree in the corner.

"Katie, where are you?"

“Meow!" The kitty responded on instinct upon hearing her name. But the second it made a sound, Joey covered its mouth.

He placed his index finger on his lips and made a gesture of silence.

Katie looked into Joey's eyes, whimpering. It put its paw on his wrist, as though it was promising that it wouldn't make any sound.

Seconds later, Joey heard the footsteps drawing closer and closer. As he held the cat tightly in his embrace, he thought of how he would escape if he were to be found. Suddenly, he heard another voice.

“Lukas, we've searched everywhere, but we still can't find Katie." At this time, a servant appeared.

"Mr. Sullivan is back."
