Chapter: 669
Looking at himself, Joey didn't know if he could believe it or not.
After all, if Lukas was telling the truth, why would Rachel not be together with Victor? Moreover, why would Quintin hate Victor so much?
However, there seemed to be no lie in Lukas' expression when he talked about Victor earlier.
Joey's mind was in a mess and he sighed deeply. At this moment, he didn't know what was true and not.
Meanwhile, as Lukas got out of the guest room, he saw Victor coming out of the baby's room.
"Mr. Sullivan."
Victor put Katie down and nodded at Lukas.
Seeing that Victor had changed his clothes, Lukas asked, "Mr.
Sullivan, are you still going somewhere? It's already late."
Indeed, it was already ten o'clock in the evening.
"Yes. I have something urgent to deal with in the company," Victor answered in a low voice. Then, his gaze went past Lukas, landing on the door not far behind him.
"Is he asleep?"
‘He?' Lukas wasn't able to react right away, but after he realized what was happening, he just smiled knowingly and nodded.
“Yes. Joe has already gone to bed.”
"Joe?" Hearing this name, Victor's brows furrowed.
"His name is Joe?"
Lukas nodded and replied.
"Yes, it is. I was worried that a child like him would not feel comfortable meeting strangers and living in an unfamiliar place. But I can see that he's a brave and obedient child."
Victor's eyes turned a bit gloomy and he said, "I'm going back to the company. If you need anything, just let me know."
Before Lukas could reply, Victor turned around and went downstairs.
He then stood at the landing as he watched Victor leave. Lukas couldn't help but sigh, thinking that although Victor had already come back to Sue Garden, he left again just after a few hours.
Of course, he was aware that even though Victor wanted to stay, he dared not.
Because of Rachel's memories all over the place, he wanted to stay and remember them.
However, it was the same reason why he couldn't be around for long.
Those same memories haunted him and would instantly turn into sharp knives that would pierce his heart.
