Chapter: 680
The doctor give them the ointment.
"The wounds may itch while they heal and scabs form. You have to put up with it for a while. Don't scratch them, or you'll injure yourself again."
Joey obeyed by nodding. He was surprised to hear a meow. Katie got onto the couch and pressed up against him. It placed a gentle hand on his arm, as if it realized it had scratched him and was guiltily touching his wounds.
"Are you apologizing to me, Katie?" Joey couldn't help but giggle.
"Meow!" Katie responded and rubbed her hand against his palm.
After dismissing the doctor, Lukas returned to the living room and noticed Joey clutching Katie tightly in his arms. He was a little taken aback. Katie had grown up in Sue Garden and had lived there for four years, but it was rarely clingy.
Katie was even unconcerned about the servants who usually looked after it, let alone the individuals it seldom knew.
But Katie was so close to a child she had only met once.
Joey raised his head to look at Lukas after noticing him looking at him, and then he looked at his watch. It was time to go.
"Sir, it's time for me to go home," he remarked as he set Katie down.
“Are you going home? It's only eight o'clock." Lukas looked at his watch.
"You don't have to leave so soon, do you? I'll ask the driver to take you back later. Why don't you stay a little longer, Joe?"
“IT haven't spent an entire night at home. My mother will be concerned if I do not return."
"But..." It had been a long time since he had seen the Sue Garden's lively scene. Lukas felt very familiar with the child before him, even though he was a stranger. Besides, it was unusual for Katie to be so attached to someone, so he was hesitant to let him go.
"It's still early, and Katie doesn't seem keen on being separated from you.
Tell you what, I'll contact your mother and inform her."
"I'm not sure this is a good idea..
“It's all right. I'll explain to your mother and let you stay here for a few days longer," Lukas offered.
“Other than that, your wounds haven't healed entirely, according to the doctor. I would feel sorry for you if I didn't get to see your wounds heal."
‘Stay here for more days? No way!' Joey thought.
"No, thank you." Joey declined.
Lukas was surprised by Joey's vehement refusal. He pondered, "Joe, aren't you used to living in here? Or do you dislike it here? I didn't think you'd..."
"No, this place is great. I like it here." Joey shook his head, seeing that Lukas had misunderstood him, "I simply can't live here any longer. Mommy will be concerned about me, and I will be concerned about Mommy. I have never been gone for such a long time without seeing her."
Lukas felt comforted when he heard this. What a devoted son he was!
Lukas didn't want to force Joey to stay any longer after seeing how adamant he was.
