Chapter: 690
“You're impolite."
Maria was taken aback by his words. Mary and the servants were astounded as well. They weren't expecting him to say this.
"How could you..."
Joey interrupted Joey.
“My mommy told me that I should introduce myself first before asking others about their names. But this lady not only brought me here without my permission but she also started asking questions instead of introducing herself first.”
“Oh my..
" Mary placed her hand on her chest as if she felt offended.
Maria stared at him with her half-lidded eyes.
"You're a smart boy," she said with a smile.
“Am I wrong?" he asked.
"No. I was impolite. Then, let's get to know each other," Maria said.
"My name is Maria Sullivan. I am your grandmother."
Maria Sullivan? Joey finally realized who this person was. She was
Victor's stepmother.
Joey suddenly realized something and looked up at her with his eyes wide open.
"Uh, what did you say? Hold on. Can you repeat it?" Busy thinking about the woman's true identity, Joey didn't hear the rest of her sentence clearly. But when he suddenly recalled what she had just revealed to him, he was stunned.
"Did you say you were my grandma?"
Maria nodded with a gentle smile.
Joey pursed his lips. The woman actually had a point. She was
Victor's stepmother, and Joey was Victor's son. But However, judging from Maria's affectionate demeanor towards him, it seemed that she thought that they were truly related. But he couldn't expose his identity.
“I'm afraid you're mistaken, lady." Joey shook his head.
“My grandmother passed away a long time ago. It can't be you."
“I know all of this might be too sudden for you, but I'm indeed your grandmother, and you are my grandson." As soon as she finished speaking, Maria turned her head to look at Mary.
Right on cue, Mary took out a photo and said, "Kid, Mrs. Sullivan is telling the truth. Check out the man in the portrait
Joey leaned in close and carefully studied the old picture.
