Chapter: 693
“There's a 99.9% possibility that Joey is Odin's son," Ivan remarked slowly after a brief pause.
Then, Ivan turned on his iPad and handed it to Victor, showing the copy of the results.
Victor lifted his brows and gazed at the paternity test results. His hand unconsciously tightened, but he didn't say anything.
Minutes later, there was still no response from Victor, so Ivan asked,
"Mr. Sullivan, shall we send someone to pick Joey up? Mrs. Sullivan has been staying home since the news of Odin's death. I'm not sure what she's up to. If she's aware of Joey's existence, I'm concerned she'll use him to do something."
The news of Odin's death had not spread widely in the country yet, but it was only a matter of time before the public knew.
Despite the fact that Victor stripped Odin of his true power, outsiders still viewed Odin as the second largest shareholder.
His death wouldn't be some small news. The shareholders would also need a reasonable explanation to keep their spirits up. Otherwise, the stock price of the Sullivan Group would inevitably suffer great turmoil.
Ivan thought that Maria would go crazy if she knew her son was dead.
After all, she loved her son so much. But to his surprise, she didn't.
She didn't create any drama. She just cried and secluded herself in her room since then. She didn't even show up for the board meeting where Victor was expected to give an explanation for Odin's death.
She simply entrusted it to one of her servants to attend on her behalf. It was not like her at all.
Ivan felt like it was the calm before the storm. He always assumed that Maria was a scheming woman and was waiting for them to fall into her trap.
“Don't bother." Victor rose up after a moment of silence, picking up his suit from the armrest.
"I'll go get him myself."
Ivan was taken aback. By the time he realized what just happened,
Victor had already walked towards the door. He snapped out of his daze and followed Victor outside.
About ten minutes later, the black Maybach slowly drove out of the underground parking lot of the Sullivan Group to the hotel where Joey had checked in.
Through the rearview mirror, Ivan carefully looked at Victor, who was sitting in the back seat.
His eyes were closed, but his face still emitted a cold look. There was no light in the car, only a few street lights filtered in through the window and occasionally illuminated his shoulder. It obscured his face and Ivan couldn't tell what he was thinking.
Somehow, Ivan felt that Victor was a bit disappointed about the results. He expected something else.
Withdrawing his gaze, Ivan looked at the test results again.
"Joey is three years old. If Victor and Rachel's child was still alive, the child would also be three years old by now.' Ivan could understand why Victor became so down. Perhaps he was thinking about his child again.
With a sigh, Ivan turned the iPad off and gazed out the window.
A while later, the Maybach drove to an intersection. The green light turned on and the car started again not long after it came to a halt.
