Chapter: 771
Susan. He adjusted his spectacles and dipped a cotton swab in iodine.
"It's fine, doctor. I can handle a little sting." Susan raised her head with a smile.
Dr. Turner looked into her eyes unexpectedly and froze for a second.
Susan had been crying. Her eyes were still red from the tears, which glistened and sparkled pitifully, soliciting sympathy from the person in front of her.
Dr. Turner's heart skipped a beat. He felt that he wanted to wipe
Susan's tears away for some reason.
"Dr. Turner, what's wrong?" Susan's eyes shone when she leaned closer and noticed the absent-minded look on Dr. Turner's face.
"Oh, um... It's nothing." Dr. Turner regained his composure and re- adjusted his glasses in a hurry as if he was hiding something.
Susan withdrew her gaze and extended her hand, saying, “Alright.
Thank you, Dr. Turner."
“Kindly excuse me, Miss Salazar." Dr. Turner coughed, cursing himself inside for his irrational thoughts.
However, Dr. Turner wasn't aware that Susan had been seeing the tiny changes on his face. Her watery eyes lit up darkly and a hint of cruelty flashed in her expression.
Dr. Turner examined the cut on Susan's arm. Fortunately, the cut from the glass wasn't too deep, although the blood kept oozing out of it, making it look so much more serious. He quickly focused on it and carefully cleaned the edge of the cut.
"Ouch!" Susan exclaimed as the iodine brushed up against the wound, causing a prickling sensation. She subconsciously pulled her hand back and inhaled deeply.
Dr. Turner instantly stopped cleaning the wound.
"I'm sorry. Did it hurt a lot?"
“It's okay. I was just surprised," Susan said, biting her lip.
“I'L just call the nurse to clean it up. Maybe my hands are not steady enough." Dr. Turner remarked and was about to throw the swab into the trash can. A thin layer of sweat suddenly formed on his forehead.
But the truth was, he felt uneasy all over as he stood in front of
Susan. He himself knew it was because of the filthy thought that had just come across his mind, and not because he couldn't control his hand muscles.
He needed to come up with a reason to leave. Perhaps he'd feel better.
However, as soon as he stood up, Susan reached out to grab the hem of his doctor's gown.
Dr. Turner froze in place.
"Miss Salazar?"
"Please continue, Dr. Turner. I'm not bothered by the pain. Patch me up and help me deal with this. I have to get this done as soon as possible because I have something to deal with at home and I'm worried I won't make it in time."
