Chapter: 799
Joey. You two are quite a good team," Lukas replied with a thin smile.
“Well, the best action is yet to come." Carson grinned as he thought of the game they had just played. He shifted his attention to Joey and said, "Little boy, let's play another round!"
"No thanks." Without hesitation, Joey refused and got up from the sofa.
Carson blinked in surprise.
“But why?"
"You're a noob," Joey answered in a contemptuous voice.
"Have you forgotten that you are here for business?"
As soon as Joey finished his words, Carson glanced at the folder beside him and curled his lips. The scornful look on his face was obvious. He had just been embarrassed by a child.
It was then that Carson remembered why he was here. Just then, Lukas stared at him carefully and eyed the document in his hand.
"Mr.
Scott, what is this?"
"It's the strategic cooperation contract between the Sullivan Group and the Salazar Group. I had to take it with me on the way because
Ivan couldn't leave the hospital."
Lukas thought it was strange. He was aware that the Sullivan Group and the Salazar Group had been in cooperation for three years now, and the contract had been signed a long time ago. What kind of agreement was written on those papers? Lukas frowned slightly, but because Carson made the decision, it wasn't appropriate for him to ask further questions.
The Salazar Group's status in Apliaria has substantially improved in the last three years, thanks to the Sullivan Group's support. They had expected the Salazar Group to be satisfied, but they appeared to be ungrateful.
Lukas had always been skeptical about the Salazar family. Maybe he was being a bit biased because they didn't leave a great first impression on him when they first met.
Sitting cross-legged on the sofa with his thumb deftly playing the game, Joey showed no interest to listen to Lukas and Carson's conversation. But when he suddenly heard about the document being related to the two groups’ cooperation, he frowned slightly and couldn't help but listen to it.
He cursed his father inwardly. Joey's hands clenched the phone tightly. He began to think that he should've taken more than three hundred million dollars of living expenses from him. It would never be enough!
"It's getting late, I should go. I have to bring this over to the
Salazar Group as soon as possible."
"Let me escort you outside, Mr. Scott." Lukas nodded and told him.
Carson gave him a nod and didn't turn him down. The two of them headed for the exit and Lukas followed behind him.
"Double kill!" The game system announced. Joey smirked, feeling like an MVP. He tapped on the screen and looked at the status of every player in the upper left corner.
It was a multiplayer game with a total of ten participants. He was playing a mode called five-on-five, which meant that the team was split into two, being blue and red.
The scoreboard flashed three to zero, with the red team being on the lead. Joey was in the red team, and all of the kills were from him.
