Chapter: 811
James' gaze fell on Carson, who was sitting at the far end of the long table, resting his back against the chair in a lazy manner.
Carson had a push pen in his hand and was pressing it lightly with his thumb.
The crisp sound echoed throughout the whole conference room.
The document on the table in front of Carson drew James' attention.
He was well aware of what it was. It was a contract that had the potential to bring the Salazar Group's status higher in Apliaria!
With just a few resources provided by the Sullivan Group during the past three years, the Salazar Group had already risen to the upper echelon of Apliaria. This new contract was a five-year strategic collaboration. Imagine how much they would benefit from it!
James couldn't help but smile thinking about the endless possibilities it could bring.
However, he was a cunning fox with over thirty years of experience in business and trades. He knew it wasn't wise to show whether or not he was content. So he stifled the smirk at the corners of his mouth, picked up the teacup, and sipped some water to calm himself down.
“Carson, it's almost noon. How about I request someone to place an order for us and have lunch together?" James set the teacup down, smiling.
Hearing this, Carson looked down and checked the time on his phone.
‘Have lunch? But it was only ten o'clock.'
Carson instantly understood that the lunch invite was just a ruse.
James probably wanted to have him take out the contract as soon as possible.
"Oh, don't bother with lunch," Carson stated, raising his eyebrows.
"I came here to bring you the contract, and the contract was securely delivered. Now all I need is for you to sign it. After that,
I'UL be on my way."
“It wouldn't hurt to talk about business matters over lunch, right?
I know a fantastic restaurant that specializes in exotic and world- class delicacies. Why don't we go for a taste together after we sign the contract?"
“Thanks, but I'm quite busy today." Carson flatly declined.
“Come get the contract, if you please." He clicked the document and gestured to
James's subordinate beside him.
James took another sip of tea. His malicious behavior was well hidden under his friendly smile “Busy? I guess you have many things to do.
In that case, I won't force you. But I hope you can join me for dinner next time. My treat."
Carson only yawned and answered in a vague manner, “I'LL try."
As soon as Carson finished his words, James eyed his subordinate and the man nodded, indicating that he understood what he meant. He stepped forward and respectfully took the contract from Carson's hand and presented it to James.
