Chapter: 1614
The forest on the mountain was a sight to behold, its fresh air making everyone feel at ease and rejuvenated.
Birds unknown to them chirped in the background, enhancing the tranquil ambiance as laughter and conversation filled the air among friends. It was truly a perfect moment.
Reaching the hot spring pool Susanna had reserved was a bit of a challenge. It was hidden inside a cave, guarded at the entrance by staff to ensure privacy.
Joanna proposed a climb to the mountain's summit. After everyone dropped off their bags, they joined her in ascending the mountain.
The mountain wasn't very high, making the group's hike up fairly easy.
Additionally, the cool weather made the hike even more enjoyable, as the refreshing breeze was a nice balance to their efforts.
At the top, they found a pavilion, a perfect spot for a break, populated by only a few tourists who were engaged in conversation and taking pictures.
Taking out her camera, Susanna exclaimed, "We rarely get to do this, so a group photo is a must!"
Everyone followed her instructions, striking various poses to get the perfect shot.
Alyssa, now quite chummy with Joanna, helped her figure out the best angles for the photos.
On the side of the pavilion, Sean and Norah found a quiet spot to sit, hand in hand.
"It's wonderful to see Susanna so vibrant," Norah said.
She’ felt guilty for not being there during Susanna's hospital stay, especially since she had always prided herself on being a supportive friend. The thought of Susanna going through such tough times weighed on her heavily.
"Well, you've been a huge support to Susanna, and I haven't forgotten any of it," Sean said.
The unexpected nature of Susanna's suicide attempt shocked them all. When Norah got the news, she was desperate to return, but was delayed by an accident. Sean often ruminated on their past arguments and the cold silence that followed. He wondered if things might have been different without those misunderstandings. Lost in these thoughts, he tightened his grip on her hand.
Meanwhile, Susanna, Alyssa, and Joanna were busy snapping photos, while the men had grouped together for their own conversations.
Phillip and Bryson were taken aback to discover that Duncan, who was a martial arts coach, was well-versed in numerous subjects, except finance.
Since they went out for fun, they steered clear of work talk and focused on strengthening their friendship through personal conversations.
"Let's head down," Susanna shouted, holding her camera. "Hey, lovebirds, come join us!"
Alyssa and Bryson exchanged a glance and walked toward her, hand in hand.
Alyssa showed Bryson the photos she'd taken. The pictures featured a lively girl in front of a beautiful background, full of energy and charm.
His usually calm mind was touched, and his eyes softened as he Listened to her chatter. "These are wonderful. Make sure to send them to me," he said.
Alyssa hesitated, a blush coloring her cheeks as she looked down, "Okay, I'll organize them and send them over."
She wondered if this rush of excitement was what love felt like; it quickened her heartbeat and brought a smile to her face.
