Chapter: 282
Sean raised his head and said coldly, "Yes, I have."
He had expressed his feelings for Norah on more than one occasion.
Every time he admitted his affection for Norah, he was sincere.
Puzzled, Susanna mused aloud, "Then why? You're so attractive and simply perfect. Even if she doesn't love you now, she could still agree to be your girlfriend and let the feelings develop over time."
In Susanna's eyes, Sean was the epitome of excellence in Glophia.
Being favored by him was a privilege. How could Norah not want to be his girlfriend? Was it a case of Norah having questionable taste or being overly selective?
Susanna was baffled. Norah could stomach a bastard like Derek for two years. Sean, on the other hand, was undoubtedly a much better man.
"Sean, I believe Norah's lack of feelings is due to her not knowing you well enough. Believe me. If you spend another month or two together, she's bound to fall for you." Susanna's voice softened as she continued, “Phillip filled me in on what happened at the hospital.
Norah admitted she's interested in you. You stand a much better chance than Kason. He's just a friend and not a threat."
Suddenly, Sean recalled Norah's words over the phone and how she had dashed into the Fox Alliance's headquarters to save Kason, risking her own life. Did Norah really view Kason as a friend?
“I'm alright, Susanna. I'm aware of what I'm doing. Focus on your recovery, and don't fret.”
Susanna couldn't help but sulk. How could she not worry? She wanted Norah to be her future sister-in-law! She wondered how long it would take for Sean to win Norah over.
Susanna sighed silently. Sean excelled in many areas, yet why did he slow in matters of the heart? Norah had already divorced. It was the perfect opportunity to capture her heart.
Watching Sean deeply engrossed in his work, Susanna said to herself silently, “Sean's happiness with Norah needs my help!"
The following day, once Norah arrived at the hospital, Baylor whispered, “Dr. Wilson, do you think you still stand a chance for the promotion to attending physician?"
Jamison had discussed this with Baylor, yet Jamison didn't say any further details. Now, Baylor was left in the dark about who would get the promotion.
But Jamison had hinted that the promotion was initially meant for Norah before it got redirected to him. Thus, Baylor was curious.
Norah had a hunch that the anonymous complaint came from someone within her department. After she got home the previous night, she breached the hospital's surveillance system and retrieved video from outside the Director's Office. She spotted two members from the Cardiology Department near the area.
Jolie and Baylor were seen near the office at different moments, leaving her uncertain about the letter's author.
"I'm not sure. You might want to check with Jamison on that." Norah offered a courteous smile without giving Baylor a straight answer.
Overhearing their conversation, Jolie said excitedly, “Dr. Padilla, I'm so jealous. I heard you're on the verge of becoming an attending doctor. Congratulations!"
Baylor, feeling awkward, responded, "Dr. Austin, nothing's been finalized. Please, don't jump to conclusions."
“Only two people could be promoted, and one position is already taken.
Dr. Padilla, it has to be you for the other spot. Given your extensive experience and expertise at Silver Boulder Private Hospital, you're undoubtedly up for the promotion. You've got this," Jolie replied.
