Chapter: 284
Joanna, on the other hand, looked at Susanna warily as soon as Susanna entered her ward. She tried to sit up in bed, but doing so pulled on her wound, which made her grimace in pain. “Norah, who's this?"
As a member of the Scott family, Susanna typically maintained a low profile. Moreover, due to her illness, she seldom took part in activities, so only a select few knew her identity.
“Hello, I'm Susanna Scott."
At the mention of Susanna's name, Joanna instantly shot an accusatory gaze at Norah, perplexed as to why Norah, who claimed to want no further contact with Sean, remained so close to Sean's sister.
Moreover, she couldn't understand why Norah would bring Susanna to see her.
Stunned, Bryson turned to look at Susanna. This was the first time he had seen Sean's sister. Upon a closer look, he saw that they bore a striking resemblance.
Susanna continued, "Norah talks about you a lot, so much that I have been eager to meet you. Well, nice to meet you!”
Hearing this, Joanna's tense expression softened instantly. It was hard to dislike such an innocent-looking girl like Susanna. "Nice to meet you, too."
Joanna gathered her thoughts and cleared her throat. "So, Norah, why'd you bring Susanna over? Did she come here for a routine check -up? In that case, did you two just happen to run into each other and decide to come see me together?"
Norah smiled and answered, "Sort of. I ran into Susanna when I was about to get off work, so I brought her along."
Susanna revealed that even though it seemed like she had been waiting all alone moments earlier, there were actually several bodyguards secretly keeping an eye on her surroundings for her safety. Norah felt relieved. She was glad that after the previous incident, Susanna had started to pay attention to her safety.
Joanna was a bit upset. She had been looking forward to some conversation with Norah, only to be interrupted by Susanna. After pouting for a bit, a thought suddenly occurred to her, and her eyes lit up mischievously.
“Bryson, I'm craving grapes. Can you buy me some?" Joanna asked.
“sure. I'll have some delivered here. Bryson promptly brought out his phone to make a call.
Seeing that her brother had no intention of leaving, Joanna hurriedly added, "No, I want you to buy them for me. There's a fruit stand in the hospital canteen. Can you buy some from there?"
"Alright." Bryson found it hard to say no to his sister, so he smiled at her dotingly and obliged. "Norah, can you keep an eye on her? I'll be back as soon as I get the grapes."
As soon as Bryson left, Joanna looked at Susanna and asked in a seemingly casual fashion, “Susanna, does Sean have a crush on anyone?"
Susanna nodded without hesitation. "Of course he does!"
Norah's expression darkened, but Joanna pretended not to notice.
"Really? Has he always liked this person, or is it someone he met recently? Do you know who the lucky girl is?"
Susanna smiled and pointed at Norah, saying frankly, “He Likes Norah, and I'm not lying when I say that she's the first woman my brother has ever liked in his whole life."
Joanna's eyes lit up. Her first reaction was to tease Norah, but just as she turned her head to look at Norah, she accidentally touched her wound, causing her to grimace in pain.
"Susanna, don't lie to us," Joanna said once she caught her breath.
"Tell us the truth!"
