Chapter: 382
The Flame Club was the most famous bar in Lochdeer. Alice had mentioned taking Norah to the Flame Club after the competition.

However, because of Alice's injuries, Norah ended up coming here alone.

Norah suddenly remembered Alice's confident demeanor and words while she was on the way to the cafe.

“Norah, hear me out. There are good men everywhere. Go with me tonight, and I guarantee that you'll have a wonderful evening," Alice had said this with a meaningful smile. Norah immediately understood what exactly she was trying to say.

Norah shook her head, trying to dispel the persistent memories that troubled her. She had ventured here driven by a nagging suspicion.

With an indifferent demeanor, Norah entered the bar, paying no mind to the welcoming glances.

Choosing a booth at the counter, she was soon approached by a striking gentleman. “Is this seat taken, beauty? May I offer you a beverage?"

He settled beside Norah and signaled the bartender, saying, "A White Queen for this lady, please."

Norah couldn't help but notice the man's good looks. He was the type who drew attention and admiring glances wherever he went. His eyes sparkled with a gentle twinkle, and his smile was inviting and charismatic, radiating a potent allure.

"It's no fun drinking alone. How about we introduce ourselves? I'm Josh Sampson.”

Josh nodded politely, his demeanor courteous. He tried to take Norah's hand to kiss it, but she declined.

Clad in a burgundy suit, Josh's hair was slicked back, though a few strands rebelliously framed his face. His grin carried a hint of playfulness. His oceanic blue eyes seemed to draw one in, mesmerizing and profound, capturing the essence of the sea's mysteries.

"Please, allow me to treat you to this drink. And perhaps, if you're willing, we could share another."

The bartender brought over two drinks.

Josh slid a glass of white sparkling wine toward Norah and picked another glass of red wine for himself. He crossed his legs, casually swirling his glass, and raised the glass to Norah.

After a taste of his wine, Josh's playful smirk grew more pronounced.

He studied Norah with those deep blue eyes, full of bold curiosity.

Unlike Alice's, Josh's eyes held a cooler, more inquisitive gleam.

“Why aren't you drinking?" Josh noticed Norah's hesitation. "Is the White Queen not to your liking? Perhaps a Red Princess or something else?"

"No," Norah responded curtly. She lifted the glass, inhaling the beverage's scent. It smelled as it should, free of any suspicious additives.

Norah took a sip, savoring the frothy sensation on her tongue, accompanied by a subtle wine aroma. The drink wasn't too strong. It resembled more of a fruity wine.

Being far from home, Norah was cautious about potential drink tampering. Whether drinking or eating, she always inspected her food and drinks before feeling comfortable. Being a doctor, she could detect any anomalies in the drink just by its scent.

Josh's eyes lingered on Norah, from her hair to her legs, his interest barely concealed. He found her mesmerizing, wondering what she'd be like during intimacy.

Norah, picking up on his intent, felt a wave of discomfort. The men she had encountered often had a predictable response to beauty, quickly fantasizing about romance.
