Chapter: 387
ALL the men brought to her were young. They all seemed to be above the age of twenty.

Glaring at Josh, she asked, "I hope there are no minors in the bar."

Josh, wiping the beads of sweat that had gathered on his forehead, replied, “No. They're no minors here."

Josh wouldn't dare tell Norah if there were any. Her gun never had the safety put on, and the slightest mistake could earn him a bullet in the forehead.

Norah turned to the man sitting next to her with a sigh. She had never expected this to come. The whole situation was quite embarrassing.

"Don't move," she said, her palm on the man's cheek as she leaned in for a kiss.

Josh watched, green with envy. This man was about to receive a kiss from Norah. Maybe he was not as good-looking as this men, but he was handsome in his own right. Why didn't Norah pick him? Why was he getting punched?

The man appeared to be quite excited at the prospect of being kissed by Norah. As she drew closer, he shut his eyes, eager to savor her kiss. In terms of financial earnings, this wasn't lucrative. But being able to get intimate with this beauty was a treasure money couldn't buy.

Their lips were almost touching when the door to the room opened with a bang.

Norah turned to the door, visibly annoyed. However, she froze in place when she saw the intruder.

The intruder had on a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves. He had sweat gathering on his forehead, and he was gasping for breath. That was probably a result of him running over.

Norah clipped her handgun to her waist and looked up at the intruder.

Softly, she asked, “Why are you here?"

Josh turned to Norah incredulously, shocked by her sudden shift in demeanor. He couldn't believe his eyes.

Sean entered with a cold sneer, each step deliberate. "Well, what do you make of this?"

Sean made his way to the group, displacing the young man beside Norah, and drew her forcefully into his arms. “Would I have caught you two in bed together had I been any moment later?"

Norah, feeling wrongly accused, protested, “How could you even think that?"

Her intent had been purely to investigate her suspicions, not to engage in anything that terrible.

"Do you truly see me as such a person?" Norah challenged, her voice tinged with hurt as she extricated herself from his grip and stood, her stance reflecting her inner turmoil. “If this is your opinion of me, I see no point in our meeting tomorrow. It appears we have nothing further to discuss."

Realization dawned on Sean that his accusations were misplaced. As Norah turned to leave, he reached out, clasping her wrist in a bid to soothe the situation. "I was wrong to say that. Please, don't be upset, Norah."

Norah's response was laden with a mix of indignation and vulnerability. "Why would I be upset? I wouldn't dare to be. What am I to you? What standing do I have to show any anger?"

Norah stood imposingly over Sean, who remained seated, her words gaining intensity.

Her demeanor suggested both a grievance and a subtle plea for understanding.

Sean acknowledged the pain his words had caused. “You have every right to be upset with me if I've wronged you. Is your task here complete? Shall we go back and talk it out?"
