Chapter: 554
Witnessing this, Oscar felt irritated. Riss, usually well-respected and powerful, was actually begging Alice to stay, who replied with indifference.
Oscar was puzzled. Could love truly be this compelling? Riss prioritized Alice over everything, even the Breaker.
To Oscar, a career should come first, yet Riss appeared to prioritize Alice over his professional ambitions.
Oscar silently cursed, feeling Alice was cunning. He gave Alice and Norah a resentful look, considering women were hinders to his career developments.
Had Oscar learned Norah's intercepting his weapons by disrupting the arms trade, he would have hit the ceiling.
With earnestness, Riss said, “Alice, I'll be here waiting for you. If you don't feel like coming back, I'll head to Cesland for you."
Riss vowed in his heart that he wouldn't let her slip away again.
Not a chance!
Alice, holding Norah's hand, declared, "Norah, we should leave." She completely ignored Riss's words, appearing completely uninterested.
Norah took the wheelchair from Riss, wheeling Alice out. She said to Sean, “Darling, let's go.”
At Alice's departure, Riss raised his hand and opened his mouth as though he wanted to say something but no words came out. He just watched them fade into the distance.
Alice had announced her imminent trip to Cesland to unwind. Riss didn't want her to leave. He couldn't bear being apart from her. But, after hearing her words, he hesitated.
Riss consoled himself, thinking Alice would only be away briefly.
Knowing she was safe was enough for him. He aimed to win her heart back.
As Norah and Sean's group headed to the airport, the car was filled with silence.
Norah glanced at Kelvin in the passenger seat and asked Sean, “Is Kelvin coming back with you as well?"
From her first journey with Sean's men to the Breaker's headquarters, Norah recognized Kelvin's strength and reliability as a bodyguard.
His presence offered undeniable protection.
Kelvin looked back and explained, "After I drop you off at the airport, my mission will be over."
Norah nodded. So, Kelvin was their protector up until the final moment.
Norah glanced at Alice, who was avoiding eye contact and seemed lost in thought. Norah wondered if Alice was thinking about Riss.
Norah couldn't imagine how much disappointment Alice had piled up to make her decide to run away. She squeezed Alice's hand, offering silent support.
Once Sean and the others got in the aircraft, Kelvin stood on the ground, watching the aircraft ascend until it disappeared from view.
He hoped by their next encounter, Sean would already marry Norah and start a family together. This would surely bring joy to the members of the Sacredice.
