Chapter: 556
Even in the dim light, Sean's delicate jawline and cold, dignified aura were unmistakable.
Norah felt a sudden pang in her heart as she realized how far away Sean seemed, even though he was right in front of her. It was a strange feeling.
"Alice, wait for me for a bit." After helping Alice into the wheelchair, Norah turned to face Sean. She could feel his warm gaze on her and understood he had asked Phillip to stay put instead of driving away.
Norah ran toward Sean, her eyes fixed on him the entire time. As she reached the car, Sean had opened the door and reached out his hand to catch her.
Sean looked at Norah intently. "Why are you running so fast?"
Initially, Sean didn't intend to get out of the car. However, he could no longer sit inside the car when he saw Norah running toward him. He gently patted her back. “You didn't have to run. I'm right here."
Norah held his other hand, her eyes shining brightly. "Sean, I'm sorry for ignoring you earlier. I'll pay more attention next time!"
She gasped, trying to catch her breath. “Text me when you get back, okay?"
Norah wrapped her arms around Sean's neck and kissed him gently on the corner of his mouth. "Have a good rest, darling."
Norah took several steps back and waved at Sean. Then, she quickly ran to Alice and wheeled Alice into her own villa.
As Sean watched Norah leave, he smiled to himself and touched his lips with his slender fingers. He had never understood the importance of kissing until he met Norah. He longed to hold her against the wall and kiss her passionately.
However, he knew there would be plenty of opportunities for that in the future.
Sean's smile broadened as he looked up and noticed the lights in Norah's villa.
Neither Norah nor Alice couldn't sleep well on the aircraft.
After cleaning up, Norah and Alice relaxed on the large bed in the main bedroom and chatted.
Norah didn't refuse to share a bed with Alice. Back when she was on a mission, she could easily fall asleep, no matter how tough the surroundings were. Plus, she had the best relationship with Alice in the organization, and they frequently shared a bed, looking out for each other.
“Alice, what had transpired between you and Riss?" Norah lay on the pillow, her hands propping up her chin, and glanced sideways at Alice.
Alice leaned against the headboard, her deep blue eyes reflecting an oceanic depth. "That day..."
The first meeting between Riss and Alice was romantic. When the gunshots rang out, Riss protected the scared Alice and instantly fell in love with her.
“I could've walked away, but I hesitated when he grabbed my hand,"
Alice revealed.
Amidst the thundering gunfire and cries of agony, Riss emerged as a hero. He took Alice's hand and rescued her from the chaos, like a knight in shining armor. Next came the classic tale of a beauty falling for the hero.
“After we're a couple, he treats me really well. Whatever I want or ask him to do, he makes sure I'm happy." Alice's eyes shimmered with reminiscence. "He's my first love. I used to believe he was my one and only, that we would always be together."
Alice's gaze dropped, her fingers interlocked together. "But not long after, he started making excuses, saying he had to socialize with big shots. One day, I went to find him and saw him in bed with another woman."
