Chapter: 681
Norah towel-dried her damp hair, feeling her anger and frustration ebb away. Reflecting on these issues alone only fueled her irritation, but after opening up to her friend, she felt more clear-headed.
“Love can make women behave unpredictably. I've experienced it myself; men often find such spontaneity attractive. Don't stress; I can see how much he cares about you. Don't be afraid to express yourself freely."
Alice remarked, taking a generous bite of the mango, her eyes narrowing with contentment. The mangoes in Cesland were delectable, sweet, and affordable! Some were even bigger than her hand.
For Alice, the best parts of being in Cesland were the food, attire, accommodations, and transport, all of which were cozy and convenient.
"Don't fret; I'm sure he'll apologize tomorrow! However, I believe there might be a misunderstanding between you two. You should discuss it when he comes to apologize."
"Alright."
Norah was upset because some men used intoxication as an excuse to act on their desires, disregarding the consent of women and leading to harm.
When she and Alice went out, they also encountered numerous oblivious men trying to strike up a conversation. Hence, she harbored a strong dislike for individuals like that.
Norah had never really discussed into this topic seriously with Sean before.
She was the one who got angry and offered no explanation, but Sean also contributed to the tension by responding too harshly.
Watching the range of emotions flicker across Norah's face, from joy to unease, Alice swallowed down the sweet mango she was eating.
"ALL right, all right. You have to work tomorrow, so don't overthink things. Get some sleep early."
At Derek's villa.
Kathy approached the front door with two clear red marks on her cheeks.
Derek swung the door open and was taken aback by Kathy's chaotic appearance.
"Kathy, didn't you go to confront the Andrews family today? Did they do this to you? You're pregnant; how could they possibly hit you?"
He inquired, his handsome face displaying anger. Kathy was his sister, and he wouldn't just stand by if she was being attacked.
“You are carrying Bryson's child. How can they strike you, regardless of their feelings towards you? How could they?"
His anger grew as he spoke, and his fists tightened. "Don't worry, Kathy, I will make sure we get justice."
Kathy touched her face, managing a weak smile. "It was Dad who hit me, not anyone from the Andrews family."
Derek's brow creased with confusion. “Why would he do that?"
He guided Kathy into the villa, asking, “What happened?"
He had just returned from work and was about to call their father to find out how the negotiations with the Andrews family went. Any charity from the Andrews family could be a game-changer for the struggling Carter family.
Spotting Kathy in such a state provided a perfect chance to inquire about what had happened earlier.
