Chapter: 697
Norah breathed a sigh of relief when she heard what Sean said.
She was simple and didn't like extravagance or maintaining a high profile.
"You don't have to work tomorrow. Do you have any plans?"
Sean always kept track of his girlfriend's days off.
He had been busy with work all year. But now, he took a break to accompany his girlfriend from time to time.
Norah nodded. "I have something to attend to during the day and a dinner with the Andrews family at night."
Sean's face turned grim. Norah had only one day off, and spending time with him wasn't a part of her plan.
“Well, being busy isn't a bad thing."
In that case, she wouldn't have time to think of him when she was busy.
Norah heard the irony on his words.
She shook his arm and said, "I can take you to the dinner tomorrow night but I don't know how shocked the Andrews family will be when they see you. Besides, they wouldn't be able to openly say what they want to if you are around."
Her words made sense; Sean had a powerful aura that could frighten people.
The Scott family and the Andrews family were both in business. They cooperated as well as competed with each other. Bryson and his father would definitely be uncomfortable with Sean around.
Sean abandoned the idea of going when he heard that.
Norah was right. He had to consider her as well as the Andrews family's feelings. He couldn't spoil a dinner just because he wanted to be with her.
He guessed the Andrews family, perhaps, wanted to talk to her about something. That was why they had invited her to the dinner.
“Shall I ask Joanna if you can join me?" Norah scratched her head and was about to make a phone call.
Sean held her hand, stopping her. "No need. I'll wait for you at home."
He guessed it would be better for him to stay home alone and wait for her to come to him.
His words were tinged with sadness. Norah reached out to stroke his head.
However, she quickly withdrew her hand, thinking petting a man's head wasn't a good idea.
Her movements were too fast that Sean didn't notice it.
“By the way, did you upset Susanna? She told me not to talk to you.”
Sean couldn't help but laugh when he heard that. "She's got nothing else to do and is always gossipy. I guess she's mad at me for lecturing her."
