Chapter: 705
Norah's immediate cheer buoyed his spirits.
Witnessing Norah's current attempts at placation stirred a sense of anticipation within him, prompting him to drain the whole glass of Liquor.
As the liquor descended into his stomach, a pleasant warmth radiated throughout his body, leaving his head pleasantly muddled.
Observing Norah across from him, who had imbibed one more glass of liquor than he had, he surmised that her condition might not be so favorable at present.
“Hank, if I should do wrong in the future, I implore your patience."
Once more, Norah raised her glass in a toast to Hank, savoring another full gulp of Liquor.
Moments later, the three men at the table found themselves growing increasingly tipsy under Norah's persistent toasts. Their flushed faces and slurred speech betrayed their inebriation.
Iker's excitement peaked as he slammed his hand on the table. "Norah, I'm truly doing this for your well-being! It's in your best interest to entrust your father's business to my management. You may simply receive a monthly stipend. There's no need for you to labor so arduously... And then you don't have to worry about Gilda and Chayce' betrayal..."
Gilda and Chayce, stationed at the doorway, wore expressions of displeasure.
Having aided Norah in managing her father's property, they were perceived by Iker's family as ambitious opportunists poised to seize control and abscond with the property. Throughout the years, whenever Iker encountered the two, his demeanor never veered from disdain.
It irritated them that upon Norah's return, Iker wasted no time in tarnishing their reputation in her presence!
Ridiculous! Accusing them of coveting property, when it was the opposite!
Norah's cheeks glowed crimson, her gaze unfocused, and her speech disjointed from the effects of the wine."
“Uncle Iker, we share a bond of family. With my father gone, you are all I have..."
As she uttered these words, Norah poured herself another half glass of liquor.
The other ladies at the table could no longer watch Nora drink.
Elsa swiftly seized the glass from Norah's grasp and called out, "Gilda, please come assist Norah to her parents’ villa. She needs to rest."
Elsa was really pissed that Norah got really drunk at her birthday party.
When Gilda took Norah away, Mindy angrily slammed her fork down.
Trying to control her anger, she said, “Did Norah believe that drinking with the Wilson men will make our family accept her? That's absurd."
Norah was encouraging the three men to drink, and everyone could see it! But because Norah was drinking too, and the men seemed to enjoy it, they didn't say anything to stop her.
But now since Norah had left, Mindy exploded.
"Even if she's rich now, she can't shake off those bad habits.
What's the point of showing off how much she can drink?"
