Chapter: 896
Phillip asked anxiously, gripping the steering wheel while waiting at the traffic light.

Sean glanced up. "Why do you want to stay?"

Phillip responded, "I'd like to look after Susanna."

“My parents will be looking after her. You are my personal assistant, Phillip."

Was this a denial? Disappointment was evident on Phillip's face. It seemed unlikely that Sean would agree to let him stay. He was responsible for managing Sean's schedule, and they were seldom apart.

"Understood," Phillip replied, his voice calm and controlled, hiding his unwillingness.

Sean was correct. Susanna's parents were perfectly capable of taking care of her. Phillip reminded himself there was no real need for him to stay.

Before the return of Susanna's parents, he had believed that he didn't need to care for her. Yet, upon seeing Nancy, his concern for Susanna escalated. He questioned whether Susanna could truly receive the tranquil treatment she required under those circumstances.

Phillip wasn't certain, so he suggested staying to look after Susanna.

But Sean had coldly turned him down.

After some time, Sean spoke up. “Phillip, could you find another assistant to go with me to Silverdale? I'm going there not just for Norah, but also to do some business."

Phillip was slightly puzzled. “Mr. Scott, are you suggesting I could stay?"

Sean laughed softly. "Yes, secure another competent assistant to accompany me to Silverdale. You may stay."

He took a brief pause before continuing, “I'm still concerned about leaving Susanna alone in Glophia.”

He felt someone needed to be there for Susanna, especially with Nancy present, as he now saw his mother as unreliable.

Kayla seemed unable to recognize her own daughter's distress, performing even worse than a stranger would. Knowing Phillip would be there gave Sean some peace of mind.

Phillip and Susanna had grown up together since childhood. Phillip was sure to take excellent care of her.

Phillip was thrilled. "Thank you. Don't worry, I'll look after Susanna well! I'll also arrange for an assistant for you!"

Phillip was determined to protect Susanna as long as he was there.

Sean didn't dwell on it further. He felt at ease going to Silverdale knowing Susanna was in Phillip's capable hands.

After washing up, Sean initiated a video call with Norah.

As he dried his hair with a towel, droplets of water dripped from his hair, trailing down his neck and chest.

Norah was reviewing some documents. Glancing up and seeing him on her screen, she involuntarily swallowed.

On display, Sean wore only shorts, his torso bare. He lifted his hand to his hair, inadvertently showcasing his sculpted chest and abs.
