Chapter: 902
“Everyone, the patients need us now," said the head of the emergency department.

Medical staff from the ambulances quickly got to work, treating the injured.

Norah walked up to the department head and declared, “I want to stay and help."

She intended to manage the triage, ensuring patients were promptly sent for emergency treatment.

The head of the department, confident in Norah's skills, nodded and said, "Alright."

With a mask secured, Norah headed resolutely to one of the vehicles as firefighters worked to remove the door.

It was a taxi. Through the shattered window, Norah saw a father holding his daughter, who appeared to be five or six years old. The car was crushed, and in the confined space, the father had bent his body to shield his daughter with his arms.

He turned his gaze towards the firefighters, his eyes filled with hope.

“Help, help..." he whispered faintly, his voice barely audible.

The man cradled his daughter's body, sensing his strength slip away and his awareness dimming.

The agonizing cries of his daughter pushed the firefighters to move more quickly.

"Dad, I'm so scared..."

"You're going to be okay. Dad is right here..."

His voice was a faint murmur in his daughter's ear. "Stay strong and live..."

As the door creaked open, the man used his own body as a shield to protect his daughter from the flying debris. An object hit his head, causing it to bleed heavily, leaving both his blood splattered inside the car.

When the firefighters extracted him, his eyes had lost their spark.

He gazed at his daughter, now safe in their arms, with a look of sorrow.

He feared he might not survive to stay by her side.

“Dad..." The little girl wept, horrified at the sight of her father drenched in blood. She stretched her hands out, yearning for his embrace.

Lying on the stretcher, the man's gaze was distant. Seeing his condition, Norah and a nurse quickly began to administer aid.

The wound on his head had bled too much; they could only watch as his eyes slowly widened and his breathing faded.

"Dad, I'm scared..." Her sobs filled the air, but her father was beyond responding.

He had given his life for her.

Witnessing this scene, everyone around was moved to tears.
