Chapter: 951
Are you okay, now?"

Last month, Marlin fell down the stairs and injured his head. He spent half a month in the hospital to recover and had just been recently discharged.

For the public, it seemed as though the Boyd family hosted this charity event for altruistic reasons. However, only the family knew the true reason behind this event - to celebrate Marlin's recovery.

As soon as Marlin recovered, he immediately threw himself back into work. Thus, the charity event was organized by Hans and several members of other influential families.

Marlin offered a reassuring nod. "It's all right now."

Waking up often left him disoriented, grappling with a nagging feeling of something lost and forgotten. It wasn't until he caught sight of Dolores that the forgotten memory clicked-she was the one he had momentarily misplaced in his thoughts.

Having spent years in the show business, Rosalee was adept at reading people. She saw Norah as a noble heroine, a woman of poise and purpose, while Dolores appeared to her as pure and simple, presumably hailing from a modest background. Her assumptions painted Dolores as meek and compliant.

However, Dolores was of no particular concern to Rosalee; Rosalee's sole concern was holding onto Hans.

Marlin took it upon himself to introduce Dolores to everyone they met, ensuring that her name was known throughout the venue.

Many perceived Dolores as fortunate, given her association with the influential Boyd family, predicting a prosperous future for her.

Amidst the compliments and attention showered upon her, Dolores blushed, shyly lowering her head.

Meanwhile, Yolande spent the evening keeping a close watch on Norah.

It was only when the auction commenced that she led her two followers back to their designated seats.

As a member of the Boyd family, Yolande's seating arrangement had been predetermined.

Everyone settled into their assigned seats as the charity auction, a key highlight of the evening, was about to begin.

The auction featured items donated by affluent individuals, with all proceeds directed to charitable causes.

Sean took his seat beside Norah, taking the opportunity to introduce the information of some attendees to her.

"That's Miss Boyd, whom you met earlier. And there's Hans, the firstborn son of the Boyd couple. He and his younger brother, Marlin, have each taken over parts of the family business. There's a lot of speculation about which of them will take over the famous Boyd Group, depending on who performs better.”

As the younger generation matured, the reins of power within affluent families gradually passed to them.

Norah couldn't resist a playful jab, “It seems like your father is eager for an early retirement. I recall you were quite young when he officially handed you the reins of the Scott Group, am I right?"

Sean chuckled wryly. “My dad never had much passion for running the company. If my grandpa had another son, my father wouldn't have been stuck with it for so long."

Norah found the situation rather amusing. While squabbles over family inheritance were commonplace among the wealthy elite, encountering an heir who had no desire to inherit the family fortune was a novel experience for her.

“My dad had me trained in Otland from a young age so that I could take over his company sooner," Sean explained.

Unlike other rich kids, he hadn't attended regular schools; instead, his education had been customized to prepare him for his future role.
