Chapter: 101
Miguel lifted an eyebrow. "Is that how you speak to your uncle?"

The standoff between uncle and nephew had escalated beyond simple family drama.

One by one, the guests began to find excuses to leave.

What was intended as a welcoming party had devolved into a spectacle.

Kaitlin noted Beth's absence from the chaos.

Apparently, Miguel had the foresight to send his mother away beforehand, sparing her the shock.

Phoebe and Nora finally grasped the situation and looked on, while Quintin walked directly to Kaitlin, taking her hand.

"It's late. We should leave," he said.

Kaitlin nodded, eager to escape the brewing drama.

Their secret marriage had been a mistake from the beginning, and with its exposure, it was now Alan's burden to bear, not hers.

“Stop right there, Kaitlin."

Alan's eyes fixated on their clasped hands, yet Quintin continued forward without hesitation.

"Kaitlin, come with me."

Kaitlin paused, her decision wavering, but ultimately she chose to leave.

Alan watched her walk away with another man, his eyes smoldering with suppressed fury.

"It seems Kaitlin has found herself a new lover," Miguel commented with a sly grin. “As your uncle, I suggest a bit of charm. If that fails, instill some fear. Once they're frightened enough, they wouldn't think of crossing you."

As he spoke, Miguel's eyes flicked toward Lilliana, who shuddered under his gaze.

"What do you really want, Miguel? How does it benefit you if the company falters?" Alan advanced, seizing Miguel by the collar and hoisting him slightly.

Miguel's expression remained excited. He was unafraid. "You seem angry. Do you care about Kaitlin?"

Alan clenched his jaw, responding with silence.

As the leader of Hewitt Group, showing vulnerability was not an option, especially with someone like Miguel waiting to exploit it.

"So you do care. This just got more interesting," Miguel continued, his tone playful.

“I'm warning you! If you do anything reckless, you'll regret coming back to Osewood!"

Alan pushed Miguel back into his wheelchair, but the smile never left Miguel's face.
