Chapter: 115
Liam slammed the documents down in front of Miguel, who fixed him with a stern look.
“What are you implying?"
“Look for yourself! I've sunk billions into this! If it fails, my company's future is on the Line!"
An assistant passed the documents to Miguel.
As he reviewed them, his expression shifted from confusion to shock.
How could this be?
Seeing Miguel's stunned look, Liam grew even more irate.
"Miguel, did you and your nephew set me up? I swear, I'll have your heads!"
As Liam made his move, Miguel's bodyguards sprang into action.
The air crackled with tension, quickly escalating into a full-scale brawl.
Amid the chaos, Miguel was ushered back into his office where he continued to sift through the papers in his grasp.
Liam's fury was justified.
What he had believed to be a guaranteed investment had crumbled into nothing.
As realization dawned, Miguel's gaze hardened. He understood that Alan had orchestrated the whole debacle.
Miguel, too, had sunk a considerable sum into this project, now seemingly squandered.
Some ten minutes later, a bodyguard stumbled in, his appearance telling of the fierce confrontation outside.
"Mr. Hewitt, Liam Sinclair and his men have withdrawn."
Discarding the now irrelevant documents, Miguel set out for the sanctuary of the Hewitt family's old house.
Beth's side was currently the safest refuge.
Even if Alan were to strike, he would have to reckon with his own grandmother first.
Yet, Miguel underestimated Alan's cunning and speed. Alan had already accused Miguel of embezzling corporate funds and divulging confidential information.
Barely having time to settle at the Hewitt family's residence, Miguel received the damning notification.
He was a wanted man. As police sirens hinted their approach, a stark fear overtook Miguel, prompting him to clasp Beth's hand tightly.
“Mom, help me!"
