Chapter: 153
Lilliana nodded in agreement. "Heading out now."
"I'll text you Kaitlin's address." Ashley provided a few additional directives to ensure Lilliana would have a substantial impact.
Imagining Kaitlin becoming so distressed that she miscarried made Ashley see a potential double victory.
After she ended the call, Ashley's mind was abuzz with various possibilities.
Lilliana, equipped with the address, set out on her mission. She rehearsed the lines Ashley had coached her with, intent on rattling Kaitlin.
Upon her arrival, Kaitlin, who had just risen from bed, appeared groggy and bleary-eyed.
The moment the door swung open, Lilliana couldn't help but smirk.
"Just woke up? Seems like someone's living the easy life."
Kaitlin's drowsiness disappeared in an instant as she stared at the uninvited guest, confusion marking her features. “What are you doing here?"
“Aren't you going to ask me in? Is this how you treat all your visitors?"
Kaitlin gave her a once-over. "You think you qualify as a visitor? We're more like adversaries. Or did you forget all your little schemes?"
Lilliana snorted. "Fine, I'll just say it here. I came to tell you that Ashley and Alan have reconciled. You might want to stop chasing after him."
Kaitlin felt a pang in her chest. “What are you talking about?"
“I'm telling the truth! Go see for yourself if you don't believe me."
Lilliana took out her phone and flashed Kaitlin a post from Ashley's social media.
Kaitlin peered at the screen and immediately recognized the setting.
It was the master bedroom at Alan's house.
The post read, "The sun is shining, and the love is endless."
It was the typical Ashley, always so over the top!
The rocking chair visible on the balcony was the very one Kaitlin had picked out for herself before the divorce, meant for soaking up sunlight in solitude.
Now, seeing Ashley enjoying it, Kaitlin couldn't help but feel the chair had been spoiled.
“See this? If they weren't back together, why would Ashley be camped out at Alan's?" Lilliana taunted. "Kaitlin, you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise."
With a smirk, Lilliana tucked her phone away, clearly relishing the turmoil evident on Kaitlin's face.
Kaitlin's grip on the doorknob tightened, her complexion draining.
