Chapter: 167
"It's been a while, Alan."

Although months had passed, Miguel still retained his sharp, unforgiving edge. Now, however, he made no effort to conceal it.

Perhaps he didn't have any concerns.

Just the day before, Alan had revoked the warrant on Miguel. Yet here Miguel was, already back.

"A loser isn't worth my time," Alan said.

Miguel's lips twitched slightly. "I'm still your uncle. You should show some respect."

With a mocking sneer, Alan strode over and with a swift kick, sent Miguel's wheelchair crashing to the ground.

Miguel fell, tumbling out of the wheelchair onto the pavement.

“What are you doing?"

"Uncle, consider this a small lesson. You're only here because Grandma is gravely ill. You better ensure she recovers, or I'll have you shipped off again swiftly," Alan declared, his eyes brimming with overt contempt. “Or I could just lock you up. It's your choice. But pull another stunt, and it won't end well for you."

ALL eyes in the courtyard were fixed on the uncle and nephew, yet no one dared to challenge Alan.

Miguel had become a complete failure.

When Ashley got back to the office, she was met with relentless setbacks.

Her colleagues, who once showered her with attention, now shunned her, their looks filled with disdain.

Ashley, always attuned to the feelings of others, could tell something was off.

She hadn't been at her desk for long when she grabbed her coffee mug and headed to the kitchen.

As she neared, a loud conversation spilled out, and she was the subject of discussion.

“Did you hear? Ashley had nothing to do with Mr. Hewitt. She's just making it up."

“Mr. Hewitt has a girlfriend, and she's pregnant. They're happy together."

"I've always seen Ashley as a bit manipulative."

"I totally agree! If there really was something with Mr. Hewitt, would she still be here? It doesn't add up at all!"

Ashley clutched her mug, her expression etched with unmistakable frustration.

Those around her, once generous with their praise, now drenched her in derision.

It didn't come as a shock to her; she had orchestrated similar ploys herself on numerous occasions.
